Yes, we have no bananas (or March gig)

No, we're not in Nashville putting on a showcase. Or in the studio cutting our first CD. Or touring Europe. Except maybe in our dreams. In actual fact, we're busy with, well, our real lives. So there's no gig this month. So stay tuned for April--we'll post that date soon. In the meantime here's photo from our last gig.

Warm up your February 24 (new date!) with some bluegrass

Our January gig saw a good crowd filling the Aspetta Cafe on a day so spring-like that the door stayed open and passersby leaned in to see what that hillbilly music was about. A broken double bass string meant Rebecca on a bass guitar, and a forgotten microphone meant an all acoustic performance, but did these annoyances stop us from having a rollicking good time? Heck, no. We even had our first request, 'Remington Ride' (thanks, John). We've changed the date for our February gig. It's now Sunday Feb 24, 2-3 p.m. So come on out! for our next gig. Apetta Cafe, 207 August Ave. in Kensington Market. No cover.

Start the new year by getting close enough on Jan. 13

We had a good turnout for December's gig, and a fine time was had by all. (We know because we asked everyone personally and took sworn affidavits.) We're looking forward to the first of what we expect to be monthly gigs at the homey Aspetta Cafe. Sunday, January 13, 2-3 p.m. Come and see what we look like now.

Next Gig Dec. 9, 2 p.m. at Aspetta Cafe

Welcome to the first post for Close Enough, a new Toronto bluegrass band. Our second gig is this Sunday, Dec. 9, 2-3 p.m. at Aspetta Cafe (207 Augusta Ave. in Kensington Market). The music is free and the cafe serves espresso, beer, wine, soft drinks, paninis and other good stuff. We plan to have fun and hope you'll join us.
